Reservation
Declaration contained in the instrument of ratification , deposited on 28 October 1991 - Or. Engl. - and withdrawn by letter from the Permanent Representative of Cyprus, dated 3 April 1992, registered at the Secretariat General on 6 April 1992 - Or. Engl.

In accordance with Article 1 (b) of the Code, the Republic of Cyprus undertakes to comply with the following six of its parts:

Part III - Sickness cash benefit
Part IV - Unemployment benefit
Part V - Old-age benefit
Part VI - Work accident and occupational disease benefit
Part IX - Invalidity benefit
Part X - Survivors' benefit.

[Note by the Secretariat: The withdrawal of declaration read as follows:

On 26.7.91 the Parliament of Cyprus adopted law No 159/91 authorising the Government to ratify the European Code of Social Security, opened for signature in Strasbourg on 16 April 1964 (European Treaty Series No 48).

As a result of an error, the instrument of ratification prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - which I deposited with you on 28 October 1991 - referred to the (Revised) Code of Social Security, opened for signature in Rome on 6 November 1990 (European Treaty Series No 139).

Cyprus is now rectifying this error by informing you that it does not yet intend to be bound by the (Revised) European Code of Social Security. In the near future, however, I will sign, on behalf of the Government of Cyprus, the European Code of Social Security of 1964 and deposit the instrument of ratification thereto.]
